What Sexual Health Services do we offer?

We offer a range of sexual health services, from contraception to STI screening.

Contraception

We can offer all methods of reversible contraception.

We offer testing for a range of sexually transmitted infections, including for HIV.

If erectile dysfunction is a problem for you and your partner we can start the process of evaluating whether there is a treatable cause. We will offer a cardiovascular risk assessment as well as a hormone check and if appropriate examination. We can provide a private prescription for the oral medications available to help.

We can help with assessment to understand the basis of your difficulty and the options available to help.

Who Can We See?

We can see anyone with a problem in this area. We have some experience with non-binary and transgender people but will not initiate hormone modification programmes.

What to Expect

St Erme Medical supplements the services provided by the NHS providing time with experienced doctors, continuity of care and management options that are evidence based and supported by guidance. As leaders in our field we can offer advice to all women, even those with highly complex histories.
Those patients who see us in person will be able to park and consult in an environment that is relaxed and welcoming.

1. Contact Us

Whether you contact us by telephone, email or via the website you will be asked to provide an outline of the service you are looking for so that we understand where, how and who we can offer you.

2. Questionnaire

You will be asked to fill in a medical information questionnaire to brief the doctor and allow you to focus on assessing your current situation during the consultation.

3. Confirmation

You will be sent confirmation of your appointment and a reminder the day before. We will invoice and expect payment in advance of the consultation.

Do not suffer in silence – do something about that issue which you find embarassing or difficult to talk about. We will not find it difficult.

Do not assume that because you have a long term health issue that nothing can be done to help other problems that are affecting how you feel and what you can do.

Experienced Doctors

Our Doctors are fully qualified and all have years of experience. Medicine covers many areas, and no one can know everything. There are unknowns and gaps in the data. We will tell you when we cannot answer a question.

We share expertise within the team and will research issues that we are less sure of.

We understand fully how intimate and embarassing sexual matters can be. Results will not be shared with the NHS or any other body unless you choose to.

If I am worried about an STI can you test for it?
Yes! We can also evaluate your risk and advise you about protection for the future.

No unless you choose to share the information

Potentially yes as there are many choices available. We can also talk her through other methods of contraception as she may prefer something else if she understands it better.
Yes – come and talk to us and we can do the appropiate tests.
The answer is that yes most women can. We would ask whether that is something you want or would like to avoid. Either way we can understand where you are now and discuss the options for you.
Strictly no, as men do not see an abrupt end to their reproductive ability as occurs for women. About 2% of men may become deficient in Testosterone and we can start the assessment for this if it is a possibility.
