Appointments
You are best served if we know about you and your health background before we meet. When you book with us for the first time, we will ask you to fill in a questionnaire to provide us with this information. This is important as we do not have access to your NHS records. This information is treated as strictly confidential and is stored with high level security.
We offer a variety of appointments.
We will ask you to decide if want to speak to a GP or a women’s health specialist. Our women’s health specialists have further training and experience, but all (other than Dr Mansour) are GP’s.
Please book the most appropriate appointment for your situation. If this cannot be completed in the allotted time, we may ask you to book a further appointment.
GP Services
Our GP services will allow you much more time but will not change the care you receive from your NHS GP. We recommend that you remain registered with your local NHS practice to ensure assistance in the event of a medical emergency or a cancer diagnosis. Care in these situations is not always available privately. We will not provide sickness certification for conditions we have not treated.
St Erme Medical does not provide 24-hour health cover.
In the event of an emergency in the UK, call 111 or 999.
GP Appointment – 30 minutes
This allows you to discuss and manage an issue of concern. It would be suitable if you have already had a health review. However, if this is your first attendance, we will ask you to provide detail of your health background before you attend via a questionnaire. During the consultation, a private prescription will be offered, if appropriate, at no additional cost. The cost of the medication is paid to the dispensing pharmacy. If applicable, a referral letter to a third party may be provided at no additional cost. We will tell you the total cost of any test before you agree that we do it. Any further investigations or specialist referral will be within the independent sector and will be subject to additional cost.
If desired, we can email the consultation record to you. This is the findings and advice of the doctor; it is intended for your information and is not to be used as an instruction for the NHS.
Additional Work (GP Appointment)
We will charge you for our professional time if asked for additional work such as letters to third parties. Correspondence (letters, phone calls and emails), beyond quick queries for clarification, will be charged pro rata on a total time taken basis: please click here for pricing.
Health Review
One of our GPs will review your overall health in a face-to-face appointment.
Starting with the information from your questionnaire we will consider all major body systems, previous medical and family history and existing medication. You will be examined as appropriate. Blood, urine, and other tests will be agreed which are appropriate for your age, gender, and risk profile. A follow up appointment will explain and discuss the findings and provide advice. This second appointment may be by video or telephone if you prefer.
Allow an initial 45 minutes with 30 minutes for later discussion.
A summary report will be sent to you within the following two weeks for your record. This will cover the findings and advice of the doctor; it is intended for your information and is not to be used as an instruction for the NHS.
